Assistant Manager The Anchor Live In Cambridge -  Anchor (CB3 9EL)
Salary: 20,000.00 - 23,000.00 (with a bonus on top)
Location: Anchor (CB3 9EL)
Recruiter: Metropolitan Pub Company
Job id: req2897

The Anchor Cambridge's iconic riverside pub on the Cam, famous for our stunning views across the water, our awesome ever changing ales, home cooked food

Here at Metro Pub Company, our mission is simple - we want this to be the best place you’ve ever worked.

Our bars are at the forefront of that mission; delivering amazing environments our guests don’t want to leave.

Our pubs and our people have so much in common; individual, strong characters, local, independent and simply the best! Like any family, we’re protective over who we let into our fold – we only want the crème de la crème for our precious MPCo.

You’ll work with the general manager to run the pub, hire, train and develop the team, plan events and take charge of everything when the general manager’s away. You’ve already worked as an assistant manager in a busy pub for at least a year, and we’re keen to know what you’ve learnt.
But it’s more than that.

We’re much more interested in who you are and what you’re really like. What are you like to work with? How do you rally a team? Are you calm when things don’t go to plan? What makes you laugh? We want to get to know you and your way of doing things. And find out how you can bring them to Anchor (CB3 9EL).

What’s in it for you?

- A salary up there with the best of the rest (with bonus on top).
- The chance to move on to managing your own pub.
- Discount at the pub and our sister pubs.
- The chance to run and develop a business.
- Parties and events with other management teams.
- Top-class management leadership programme.

Who are we, anyway?

We’re Metropolitan Pub Company (or Metro Pub Co for short). We’re part of Greene King, but they leave us to it. We’re big believers in local pubs being just that, with their own character and charm. We’ve got over 60 pubs in and around London: neighbourhood locals, city pubs and foodie ones. They’re all different – run by their managers, not a boardroom – and we like it that way.
